The Opportunity Partner Program
Is a social engagement strategy designed to facilitate the development of meaningful, mutually beneficial relationships between The Stride Center and businesses.
Partners
are provided the opportunity to engage in one or more categories, including employment volunteer activities, donating retired equipment, and individual or philanthropy.
Details
The Stride Center encourages new partners to assess the options and begin engagement with the area or areas that provide the most potential benefit to both organizations. As we experience the very tangible benefits of partnership & collaboration, we believe expanding the relationship may be a natural outcome. Download brochure pdf
Employment
One of the most exciting aspects of The Stride Center Business Partner Program is the placement and employment matching. The Stride Center facilitates hiring of Stride Center graduates into entry level technical positions. Download Stride Candidate Profile PDF
The Opportunity Partner Program is designed to leverage the needs and resources of partner organizations. Hiring a Stride Center graduate lowers staff acquisition expenses and reduces training time. The Stride Center also trains a high percentage of ethnic minorities, enabling us to support corporations seeking to attain a more diverse workplace.
Key elements of the employment program includes:
“We are working with the Stride
Center because we see the need
for developing local talent that
we can hire from, and supporting
the economy and workforce in
Silicon Valley. Our commitment
to quality includes the quality of
our shared community.
The opportunity partner program
is a chance for businesses to
join together with an organization
directly impacting lives and can
come together around solutions.”
Alan Cade
Vice President, Technical Operations
Hitachi Data Systems

Volunteer Opportunities
The Stride Center offers a number of volunteer opportunities to engage employees in short-term through long-term activities. Examples of current and future opportunities include:
“Working with the Stride Center
is a competitive advantage
with our staff and customers.”
Sal Shafi
President of ESG Consulting, Inc.

Equipment Donations for Reuse
The Stride Center gladly accepts donations of computers and associated equipment. This equipment is then refurbished by students and graduates and made ready for non-profit organizations, churches, schools and qualifying individuals for little or no cost to the recipient. Because we reuse this equipment, as opposed to recycling, 100% of the value and worth of this equipment is retained. We know our partner organizations will be proud to say that their retired equipment is experiencing a second life, serving underserved men, women and children, supporting community technology centers and helping non-profit organizations operate more efficiently and effectively.
The Stride Center currently accepts:
“The Stride Center is assisting
men and women in our community
with career development and
economic self sufficiency through
training and education. Both
Chevron and the Stride Center
recognize that an investment in
education and job training is an
Investment in Richmond’s future
economic growth.”
Mike Coyle
General Manager
Chevron Richmond Refinery

Philanthropy
Philanthropy is how the program is sustained and grows. Successful programs such as employee giving and corporate matching are exact matches to work together in changing lives. All gifts are tax deductible.
“By supporting workforce training
through donating financial capital
and volunteer hours, we further
the Stride Center’s efforts to
improve people’s lives across the
Bay Area by helping them become
more skilled and better qualified
for employment.”
Tim Silva
Senior Vice President
Wells Fargo

Visibility
The Stride Center works with Partners to agree on public relations strategies that highlight the work we are doing together. This can include a wide variety of strategies, including facilitation by our pro bono PR Firm, TopMind PR.
“By partnering with the Stride
Center, we are able to help
workers in urban communities
realize their potential. Our
partnership with the Stride Center
is an opportunity to provide
technology skills, training and
support for underserved
communities to thrive.”
